Aircraft Ground Power Unit / Start Cart
The unit consists of a combined battery and charger which can be used separately or together to provide clean DC to an aircraft for starting or avionics supply, both near to or away from an AC supply.
The DC is available at the aircraft plug up to 1200 Amps and also at the front of panel test sockets up to 20Amps. The system voltage is nominal 24V DC and with AC connected the output is 28V DC.
The unit will start the aircraft when the plug is connected to the aircraft and the battery switch is ON. Maximum starting current is 1200 Amps and is not current limited. The charger may or may not be connected during starting and will not suffer any damage by the starting cycle. With a fully charged battery the starting voltage at 700 Amps is found to be above 20V DC.
